The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe congratulated the CDM 4-IN-One Marathon Ambassador, Rufus Poto for his resolute performance finishing positon 13 at the Comrades Marathon held on Sunday 09 June 2019.
Poto was named the CDM marathon ambassador in 2017 when the municipality introduced the CDM 4-IN-One Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Qualifier together with 2012 Comrade Marathon winner Ludwick Mamabolo.
The Executive Mayor also congratulated Maropeng Mojela, the bus driver who arrived at the finishing line with his bus within the allocated time of 10 hours. He further congratulated all athletes coming from Capricorn District Municipality for participating in the 2019 Comrades marathon edition. The Executive Mayor joined the comrade runners from Capricorn as they were getting ready for the tough journey of the 09th June 2019. The warm up bus was driven by Mojela. Mojela is also a VIP driver for the Executive Mayor in CDM.
