CDM mayors participate in live video call with Minister Dlamini-Zuma

All the Mayors in the Capricorn District Municipality, participated in a live video call with the Minister of Corporative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. The video call session held on 03 April 2020 saw minister and mayors deliberating on issues of water, sanitation, and also clarifying the regulations on allowing informal traders to operate.

This was also a test on the municipality’s readiness on 4th industrial revolution. The mayors namely, Cllr John Mpe – CDM, Thembi Nkadimeng – Polokwane, Edward Paya – Molemole, Meriam Molala- Lepelle-Nkumpi and Maseka Pheedi- Blouberg, were able to interact with the Minister and ask questions.

On the other hand, as part of restoring human dignity and responding to the basic human needs, on 01 April 2020, CDM intervened by getting volunteers to assist an old pensioner in Zebediela at Rama village with a new VIP toilet and small container to store.

The matter was reported on Monday 30 March 2020 by a concerned member of the community in that area and municipality had to quickly act”

The old man has been staying alone and had no water, no ablution facility, even electricity. The water tanker also ensured that the people in that area were provided with water immediately.
