CDM Launched the 2nd edition of 4-In-One Marathon

CDM Launched the 2nd edition of 4-In-One Marathon that took place at Polokwane Royal hotel. As CDM we aim to once again attract runners and visitors from across the district, the rest of the country, and beyond. In 2017 we had participants from other African states who descended here to not only be in the race, but also to appreciate and experience Capricorn district as a liveable, safe and peaceful region and to enjoy our diversity, identity and heritage.

The aim of this marathon is to enhance and promote social cohesion, promote nation-building, regional identity, and encourage a healthy lifestyle. This year’s edition is targeting 5,000 athletes who want to prepare or qualify for the Oceans and Comrades marathons. The race is divided into four categories – 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km distances. All will start in a morning breeze at 06h00 before temperatures rise and those who are sure about the resilience and strength of their legs will go on until mid-morning to complete the 42km challenge. By the time people finish 42km, they will know if their legs and cardio endurance are ready for the two ultimate races (Comrades and Two-Oceans). This was uttered by the Executive Mayor Mpe who launched the marathon.

We would like to thank Lepelle Northern Water as our main sponsor for contributing to this event. We also appreciate our partnership with Polokwane athletic club, department of health and department of sports, arts and culture. Let the race begin
