Capricorn District Municipality is taking disaster matters seriously. The municipality held a disaster risk management capacity building workshop on 10 March 2020 at Inveraan Village in Blouberg Municipality. The workshop is part of the many awareness activities scheduled throughout the year in all four local municipalities in the district namely Blouberg, Molemole, Lepelle-Nkumpi and Polokwane.
Speaking to the participants, the National Disaster Management Centre focused its presentation on information management and communication, and education, training, public awareness and research on disaster reduction and management issues.
The workshop was attended by ward committee members and members of public safety from the four villages around Inveraan.
