The Community Safety Forum community engagement seminar, hosted by the Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), was underway at Alldays Community Hall on 27 March 2026.
The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Sport, Arts and Culture, Cllr. Makgalemele Makhura, led the CDM delegation at the seminar. Delivering a strong call for collective responsibility and action, Cllr. Makhura, on behalf of the Executive Mayor, emphasised that, “A safe and healthy community was not built by government alone, but through united action where every citizen took responsibility to prevent crime, protect one another, uphold health standards, and restore the spirit of community.”
Various sector departments and units within the Capricorn District Municipality shared insights on their roles in building safer communities, including SAPS, Environmental Health, Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue Services, and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, among others.
