CDM Hosted Marathon Send-Off and Congratulations to Dolphin FC

The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality hosted send-off ceremony for our athletes in the District and also congratulated Dolphins FC. This is the last weekend in the Province before athletes depart for the 2018 Comrades Marathon in Durban, CDM decided we could not let our flag-bearers go to a competition of this magnitude without a gesture of goodwill and throwing some weight and support behind athletes.

This session took place a week after we as Capricorn District Municipality just had a successful Council to approve and adopt the 2018/19 IDP and budget in one of our local municipality, Lepelle Nkumpi Local Municipality.

“We are proud to announce that part of the commitments we made to people of this District is to expand our Capricorn District Municipality 4 in 1, popularly known as CDM 4 in 1 Marathon, which a majority of you supported and participated in its 2nd edition in February 2018” the Executive Mayor said. He also extended his gratitude to one of our own, Maropeng Michael Mojela for being officially confirmed as one of the Comrades pacesetters, and will be driving his second 10hrs bus.

” This is a great achievement that calls for hard work, dedication and importantly discipline. This is the man that keeps me safe everyday at work, and little did I know that hes also recognized nationwide as the safest driver on the road, both in the car and also in running. We are really grateful for this achievement. Mojela keep up the good work and keep these humble souls safe”

CDM is also congratulating Dolphins FC from our local municipality Blouberg that took position one in the ABC Motsepe League. Dolphins FC will be participating in the National play Offs for the space in the National First Division (NFD) and as a District we have already committed to financially support them with an amount of R50 000 to realize their dreams. CDM is rally behind you.
