Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo of Capricorn District Municipality took proactive steps to engage local business owners by hosting a business breakfast session focused on freight logistics. The session featured presentations from key stakeholders, including the Polokwane Municipality, the Greater Africa Air Link (GAAL), Barloworld, and the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL).
These presentations provided valuable insights and information on how businesses can effectively utilize freight logistics to their advantage. This initiative by Executive Mayor Teffo highlights her commitment to promoting economic growth and development in the District and shows her dedication to working closely with various organizations to support local businesses.
“This is because our SMMEs are particularly crucial as they bring diversity and resilience to our economic landscape, which is why we see it as serious business in terms of our IDP and LED Strategy to continuously support their viability in various ways so they can thrive and sustain themselves.
We therefore use platforms such as this to extend our heartfelt appreciation to you all for your partnerships, contributions, investment opportunities and corporate social responsibilities which have helped create a vibrant and dynamic local economy” Executive Mayor said.
With this event, she hopes to facilitate meaningful discussions and collaborations that will ultimately benefit the business community in the District and contribute to the overall success of the District’s economy. The session was held on 06 December 2024 at The Park Inn Hotel in Polokwane.
