CDM hold HAST GBV dialogue in Mafefe

Capricorn District Municipality hosted a HAST GBV Dialogue at Mafefe Village in Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. The dialogue was held on 21 Aprill 2021 at Mafefe Drop in Centre Hall.

The main purpose of the dialogue was for Community members to engage on the realities faced by families on HIV/Aids, Gender Based Violence and other crucial family and health matters. The discussions also included the importance of communication.

The participants were placed into five groups each given a topics to deliberate on. “We have to create a conducive environment and allow people to engage freely. In this way, each and everyone will be able to talk and share their views and experiences honestly”, said Rathabeng Mamabolo, Deputy Chairperson of District Men’s Forum and also Champion Men Mentor from Father a Nation Organization.
Social Worker Kedibone Moila talked lengthy about abuse in families especially of men.

The session ended with Municipal Health Practitioner Mamma Hlahla providing Covid-19 Awareness education. Men also signed a Renew All Vow to re-new their values as men to women and to society.
