CDM handed over construction sites for infrastructure projects in Molemole and Blouberg Local Municipalities between 02 – 03 August 2022.
On 03 August 2022, the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo introduced a contractor to the community of Botlokwa Sekonye in Molemole Local Municipality and handed over a water project site. Accompanied by Mayor of Molemole Edward Paya, this was seen as a significant stride towards resolving water supply challenges in the area. The Sekonye Water Supply project is valued at R12 Million.
The Executive Mayor also deployed a team of Councillors serving as Members of the Mayoral Committee to spearhead the handing over in other various areas. On 04 August 2022, in Indermark, MMC for Corporate Services Cllr Sammy Selamolela led the handing over of two Indermark D & E Water Supply project valued at R8,8 million each and Indermark C – R8.8 million. He was joined by MMC for Sport, Arts and Culture Cllr Makgalemele Makhura.
MMC for SEMS Cllr Solly Mahlatjie led handing over of project site for Mohodi Water Supply at Mohodi Ga-Manthata village valued at R11,2 million and Mogwadi Ponds valued at R7,3 million. At the same time, in Senwabarwana, MMC for DPEMS Cllr Matome Masoga and MMC for Infrastructure Cllr Maite Mohale handed over new site for Senwabarwana Ponds valued at R7,3 million.
On 02 August 2022, MMC for Infrastructure Cllr Monica Mohale led the handing over of Witten water project which will cover the community of Mabelebele and Serakalala in Blouberg Local Municipality. The project is valued at R15million.
The construction in all the sites has kick-started in August 2022 and will be completed in 2023 when the identified communities will be receiving clean water. Community members, project steering committees, meshate and municipal representatives were there to witness the ceremonies.
