“You are joining us at a very critical time when the demand for services is the highest in history and we therefore need a capable, dynamic workforce such as yourselves to help us deliver on our mandate,” said CDM Executive Mayor Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo on 05 April as she officially welcomed the new staff members.
The Executive Mayor said this as she was welcoming just over forty new employees, who joined the municipality on 02 April 2024. The employees are joining the various departments in the municipality such as Infrastructure that will be boosted with 8 drivers, 7 Process Controllers, 4 artisan plumbers and 5 General Assistants. While the Corporate Services has 13 General Workers and in Finance Department 3 new members have joined.
Most of the positions filled are in infrastructure, and the Executive Mayor indicated that the municipality had to prioritise these vacancies because it takes serious the provision of services to the community, especially water, and these are people who deal directly with water issues.
“I am happy that the majority of you here are youth and women who represent our special focus group with the energy, zeal and skill to prove yourselves and make yourselves and your families proud,” said Cllr. Teffo.
