CDM ESTABLISH DISTRICT TOURISM ASSOCIATION

Capricorn District Municipality in association with the Limpopo Economic Development Environment and Tourism (LEDET), Limpopo Provincial Tourism Association (LPTA), and Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) spearheaded the Establishment of the Capricorn District Municipality Tourism Association. The meeting was held at The Park Inn Hotel in Polokwane on 21 October 2022.

The meeting elected  Lerato Sekgobela, founder of Discover Limpopo Magazine, Polokwane as the Chairperson of the Capricorn District Municipality Tourism Association (CDMTA). “As an association, we are going to work as a collective. We have to ensure the sector plan and account for its programs. We will collaboratively build a powerful association and drive tourism in this district to greater heights,” said the newly elected Chairperson appreciating the vote of confidence.

The election process was run by Gerhard Franken, Chairperson of LPTA and people eligible to serve as office bearers for the CDMTA were those already in the local tourism associations (Blouberg, Molemole, Lepelle-Nkumpi, Polokwane) . Other members of the association elected were Deputy Chairperson – Fortune Mabeba from Makgabeng Farm Lodge in Senwabarwana – Blouberg, Treasurer – Benny Mathekga from Mathekga Lodge Senwabarwana Blouberg, Public Relations Officer – Grace Sibara from Hayani Lodge – Polokwane and additional member Acton Ngobeni from Talama Lodge Botlokwa in Molemole. Capricorn District Municipality LED Office will serve as secretariat for the association.
