“For a state of mental health and active body, employees should be given such opportunities so that they come back healthy and with new thinking,” MMC for Corporate Services Cllr Sammy Selamolela said during a send off the session with team Capricorn held on Sunday 09 October 2022 at CDM Council Chamber.CDM employees are participating in the Inter-Municipal Wellness Games organized by Inter-Municipal Sport of South Africa (IMSSA) hosted by Polokwane Municipality from 09 to 14 October 2022. MMC Selamolela was accompanied by MMC for Sport, Arts and Culture Cllr Hilda Makhura and the Municipal Manager, Mr Ramakuntwane Selepe.
The chairperson of Employee Sport, a committee responsible for employee physical fitness team Ms Phuti Mothapo indicated that the team was ready to bring awards home and the leadership must be ready to ascend the stage for collection. The games were held annually before taking recess for two year due to Covid-19 Pandemic. The excitement has been massive with 26 municipalities participating since the last games that were held in 2019.
