The Capricorn District Municipality held a council awareness campaign on the Code of Conduct for Councillors and Council Rules of Order at the CDM Council Chamber on 06 January 2026.The session was led by the Chairperson of Ethics, Rules and Integrity, Cllr Jara Masubelele, together with Cllr Phaka Murwa. Presentations focused on compliance with the Code of Conduct and adherence to the Council Rules of Order.
Participating in discussions, the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo raised concerns related to ethical conduct and council procedures.
Councillors were reminded of the importance of ethical leadership, integrity, professionalism, and orderly conduct to support effective decision-making. The campaign forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to good governance and accountability.
