CDM Conducts HIRA inspections

Capricorn District Municipality has been conducting Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA) inspections in all CDM offices in the district including water, water treatment plants, fire and disaster satellite offices.
The municipality was assisted by Centre for Occupational and Wellness Services which is a service provider tasked to look at the municipality’s health and wellness issues.
The aim of the exercise was to identify, categorise, evaluate and recommend corrective measures to prevent and minimise risks. Upon completion of the exercise, it is expected that a detailed report generated and the municipality will look into the issues raised in order to ensure that they come up with plans aimed at dealing issues raised.
The HIRA inspections took place during the month of October and early November 2021 and was led by the Occupational Health and Safety unit in the municipality.
