The visit took place as learners across the country returned for the first day of the 2026 academic year. The school recorded an 84% pass rate in the 2025 National Senior Certificate examinations. Out of 57 learners who sat for the examinations, 49 passed, including 20 Bachelor passes and 15 Diploma passes. However, the school experienced challenges during the 2025 academic year, such as vacant educator posts, poverty within the Newlands community which means lack of transport for learners attending extra classes, and no meals during these additional lessons.
Addressing learners, Capricorn South District Director Tinyiko Nkuzana urged them to start working hard from the beginning of the year. He stressed that through dedication, cooperation and early preparation, the school can improve its performance and achieve even better results in the 2026 academic year.
