
Five of the vehicles handed over to satellite offices dealing with water issues, are expected to be used by operations and maintenance in responding to the community’s calls for water challenges. The six vehicles are worth over R2,7m.
“The infrastructure services department is currently at 94% response rate in terms of water challenges reported by communities, and with these cars we expect you to do even more,” said Cllr. Sammy Selamolela, MMC for Corporate Services at CDM. Cllr Selamolela was speaking as the Acting Executive Mayor of CDM.
Speaking on behalf of the MMC for Infrastructure services, whose portfolio is the recipient of the vehicles, MMC for DPEMS Cllr. Calvin Masoga thanked the municipality for the vehicles and urged the users of the vehicles to look after them.
