Career opportunities and informed career choices took centre stage at the Limpopo Provincial Career Expo, held on 11 August 2026 at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, bringing together learners, government leaders, institutions and professionals to inspire young people about their future careers.
The MMC for Development Planning and Environmental Management Services (DPEMS), Cllr Makgato Machaba, joined the Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Bernice Swarts, and MEC Tshitereke Matibe at the Expo.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, Cllr Machaba encouraged learners to actively explore career opportunities, ask questions and engage with institutions and professionals to make informed decisions about their education and future careers.
He highlighted the wide range of opportunities available in environmental management, conservation, climate change, biodiversity, waste and water management, and the green economy.
The Expo provided an important platform for learners to gain exposure to different career paths while understanding the skills and qualifications required to contribute meaningfully to the development of Limpopo and South Africa.
Cllr Machaba emphasised that investing in young people today is investing in the future of Limpopo and South Africa, encouraging learners to take advantage of opportunities that can shape their careers and communities.
