CAPRICORN DISTRICT HANDS OVER R10 MILLION SANITATION PROJECT IN BLOUBERG

Capricorn District Municipality has officially handed over a R10 million sanitation project that will see the construction of 600 sanitation units in Schoongezicht A and Lethaleng villages under Blouberg Local Municipality (BLM).
Welcoming the project, Mayor Cllr Maria Thamaga described sanitation as dignity for the people and thanked Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo for honouring the promise to deliver this much-needed service. The handover was led by Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Infrastructure Services Cllr Maite Mohale.
In the same meeting, the Mayor also presented the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Awards won by Blouberg Local Municipality at the SALGA Moses “Big Moss” Maluleke Municipal Awards 2026, celebrating the municipality’s commitment to excellence in local governance and service delivery.
The sanitation project, alongside the recognition from SALGA, underscores the municipality’s dedication to improving lives and delivering quality services to communities in Blouberg.
