On 14 January 2026, in wet weather, the Speaker of Council, Cllr Kholofelo Lehong, joined the MEC for The Limpopo Provincial Treasury , Mr Kgabo Mahoai, and the Mayor of Blouberg Local Municipality Cllr Maria Thamaga to monitor the reopening of schools in the district.The leadership conducted a Back to School Campaign at Raseasala Primary School in Thalaane Village, within the Maleboho Central Circuit, under Blouberg Local Municipality.
The Capricorn North District Director for the Department of Education, Mr Director Mothemane, welcomed the monitoring visit and assured the leadership that the district is 100% ready for the 2026 academic year.
He further commended the continuous support from political leadership, led by Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, describing it as a key pillar contributing to improved educational performance.
The leadership also expressed appreciation for the sterling work carried out by educators, parents, and learners, with the support of the Circuit Manager, in ensuring a smooth start to the academic year.
