CDM COUNCIL CONGRATULATED THE NEW CHIEF WHIP

The Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) Council extended its heartfelt congratulations to Cllr Matome Masoga on his well-deserved appointment as Chief Whip of Council during a virtual Council meeting held on 17 March 2026.

Cllr Masoga brings with him a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge, having previously served as the MMC for Planning and Environmental Management Services, as well as a former Chief Whip of Council.

His proven leadership and deep understanding of Council processes place him in good stead to execute this responsibility with excellence.

The appointment is a testament to Cllr Masoga’s dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to serving the people of the Capricorn District. Speaker of Council Cllr Kholofelo Lehong said, “We are confident that you will continue to strengthen unity within Council, uphold governance standards, and advance the developmental agenda of the municipality.”

As Cllr Masoga assumes this important role, Council also acknowledged and appreciated the contribution made by the outgoing Chief Whip, Cllr Lesiba Matsimela, for his service and leadership during his tenure.

Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo said, “Council looks forward to working closely with you in promoting accountability, cohesion, and effective oversight as we continue to deliver quality services to our communities.”
