On 29 September 2025, Capricorn District Municipality hosted a key workshop to strengthen financial accountability and transparency in local government. The session focused on the vital roles of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) and the Finance and Monitoring Board (FMB) in tackling Unauthorised, Irregular, Fruitless, and Wasteful Expenditure (UIFWE).Led by experts from the Provincial Treasury, the workshop encouraged stronger collaboration between oversight bodies to protect public funds and enforce consequence management.
