The Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo joined the MEC of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon Thabo Mokone on a back to school program held on 17 January 2024. The program started at Oppenheimer Agricultural School under Polokwane Municipality in the Capricorn North District.
The MEC and Executive Mayor and their delegation were on a program to monitor school re-opening in the Capricorn North District. The program was carried out throughout the province where other government leaders and officials were deployed to the other districts. In these schools they check the school readiness, learner admission, attendance, etc.
Speaking to the learners at Dr MJ Madiba Secondary School Cllr. Teffo said to the learners that, their responsibility at this stage of their life is to study, stay away from social things that will destruct them from their studies. The Executive Mayor also said that more needs to be done on the discipline of learners and also the conduct of educators.
