COUNCIL IMBIZO AT GA-RAKGWATHA

The residents raised their service delivery challenges such as lack of proper sanitation, RDP houses, unemployment, high light poles, mobile clinics, and common among them was water. This came out during Council Imbizo held at Zebediela Ga-Rakgwatha under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality on 12 September 2023.
Following the interaction, the Executive Mayor Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo indicated to the community the work that CDM is doing on some of the challenges raised and gave clarity on some issues. She appealed to the community to pay for municipal services, for the municipality to be able to deliver services. The Executive Mayor also urged them not to do illegal water connections.
CDM takes seriously the issue of having its community participate in the way the municipality renders services to them. Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo and Lepelle-Nkumpi Mayor Cllr Merium Molala led the interface when communities were given a platform to raise issues of concern and challenges. The imbizo is part of the systems geared at bringing council closer to people and listen to their service delivery and governance concerns. It is also about giving them timely feedback throughout the service delivery cycle.
