People came in numbers to witness as the Executive Mayor delivered the #SODA2023 in line with the approved 2023/2024 IDP/Budget. CDM Council approved a total budget of R1,3 billion for the financial year 2023/24 in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act and relevant Treasury budget regulations.
The budget was comprised of R426m in capital expenditure and R947m for operating expenditure. “As the Water Service Authority, it is worth noting that 89% (R383m) of the capital budget is for water projects, which we hope will enable us to implement the IDP and give more people water,” said Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo highlighting the 2023/2024 budget.
