The webinar was aimed at commemorating PR, creating a platform for engagement amongst practitioners while taking stock of the history and its future in a changing world.
“Let us be inspired by the potential that lies within our profession,” said PRISA President Oscar Tshifure, opening the webinar.
Among other important issues touched on was the importance of tapping into new media wisely, safely and responsibly, the relevance of professional bodies, and being able to see AI as an opportunity that needs to be embraced while upskilling ourselves in alignment with the ever-changing audience.
Presenters included Events Promoter Gabriel “MrGabs Mapiano” Mogashoa, touching on PR and Artists Promotion, Dr Sandrag Shihomeka from University of Namibia presented on the Future of Public Relations in a Changing World, Dr Metji Makgoba from University of Limpopo focused on PR as an Extension of Neoliberal Hegemony in South Africa and PRISA Immediate Past President Phuti Mothapo spoke on Professional Bodies and their relevance in the changing PR Landscape.
The hybrid session was attended by practitioners from different spheres. CDM Communication team members are affiliates of PRISA in good standing and continue to attend its continuous development programmes.
