Women were encouraged to move beyond conversations about empowerment and take meaningful steps towards economic participation, entrepreneurship and leadership during the District Women’s Empowerment Seminar held on 28 August 2026.
Representing the Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, the Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Local Economic Development Cllr Caroline Mamabolo led the seminar, which brought together women to reflect on opportunities for economic growth and empowerment.
The seminar emphasised the importance of women creating and owning their pathways, building sustainable enterprises and positioning themselves to actively participate, compete and lead in the economy.
The event also provided a platform for women to share experiences, engage on challenges and explore opportunities that can contribute to their personal and economic development.
Women must not only be empowered—they must be given the space and opportunities to lead, own and shape their future.
