Top matric learners in Polokwane get special awards

Congratulations continue to pour for the matric class of 2021 after Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo joined Polokwane Municipality in recognizing Top 20 learners in Polokwane with special awards this morning.

Teffo gave a message of support and expressed delight in celebrating excellence. “We commend Polokwane Municipality and you the Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe for rising to the occasion and spread recognition where it is due. We know how much education means to you and we know how much this recognition means to these learners, the cream of the crop – who have made Polokwane proud”, she said.

She explained how the excellent performance in 2021 has inspired CDM to double its efforts in reaching out to more schools and invest in the future of the African child. “This is because for the majority of under-privileged households in our district, the plight and hope for a prosperous future rests on the success of their learners to lift them out of the curse of poverty. And one way of doing it, is to pass matric, and do so with flying colours and go to the University or TVET college of your choice”, she said.

Executive Mayor commended the Department of Education and MEC Polly Boshielo for the support it gives to schools and to the educators for believing in the learners and stretching them to realise their full potential.
