Team Pool crowned champions at the SAMSRA Games

The Pool team was crowned champions on 27 September 2019 at the South African Municipal Sport and Recreation Association (SAMSRA) Games held at Durban Ethekwini Metro in Kwazulu Natal Province. The team scooped two trophies and gold medals after walloping Greater Taung Local Municipality from North West Province in their final game.

The Pool team made it difficult for its opponents to gain upper hands throughout the games. The SAMSRA games are part of the municipal employees wellness programmes held annually hosted by various municipalities within South Africa.

The road to the finals started with victory at group stages beating City of Matlosana, Dr Ruth Mompati and Greater Tzaneen. They moved to the last sixteen stage against Joe Morolong. In the quarter finals they won against Thabo Mofutsanyana and moved to the semi-finals playing King Sabata Dalindyebo. “The games were very difficult, both the semi-finals and the finals in the best of five, were a tie. We had to go for a decider match which we won after a breath taking performance that had everyone eagerly on their foot”, said Pool Coordinator Mohlaloganye Mohale.

The pool team players were Mohlaloganye Mohale, Herman Maditsi, Mosupa Bopape, Collins Ramaphakela, Abram Mothapo, Thato Mashego, Mokutu Mokwele and Oscar Sebola.
