The CDM Portfolio Committee for Strategic Executive Management Service (SEMS) led by Cllr Phuti Masoga visited the Langlagte Youth Center to oversee its operations and status. The center is located in the Blouberg Satellite office in Langlagte village and services youth around Langlagte and surrounding villages such as Sekhung.
The center is currently operational with a Wi-Fi system fully active 24 hours, seven days a week and its accessible to all community members. There are two computers available to be used by the community and also those who come with their own laptops are allowed to connect to the centres’ internet. They are able to search for employment and business opportunities, do research for study and business purposes, do online applications for bursaries and employment and do schools projects.
“The centre is strategically positioned, as this areas has been identified as an economic hub by Blouberg Local Municipality. It is indeed a good investment to the community”, said Cllr Dan Mosena, member of the portfolio committee residing within Blouberg Local Municipality.
“We are happy to see that this project has developed very well and is able to benefit the community”, said Cllr Masoga.
