The Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo has joined the Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration Dr Chana Pilane-Majake, who was visiting Kabelo High School at Greenside, outside Polokwane on 23 Janauray 2024.
The two leaders did not just go to see the learners empty-handed, about fifty learners from disadvantaged families, went home with a new pair of school shoes.
During the visit to Kabelo Secondary School the Deputy Minister and Executive Mayor spoke to the learners motivating them to work hard and focus on their academic work.
The Executive Mayor Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo thanked the school’s class of 2023 for achieving an 86% pass in their matric results. She further reminded the learners about the importance of discipline in the way they conduct themselves at school.
The Deputy Minister Chana Pilane-Majake had this to say to the learners, “If you don’t prepare for your future, you are nothing. You need to take the opportunity that the government give you, use it to be the leaders of tomorrow.”
Sonty Pilusa was beaming with a smile after receiving his new pair of school shoes. Pilusa is a Grade 10 learner from the school. “I’m so happy to be a beneficiary from the Deputy Minister and Executive Mayor’s gesture, because my parents were unable to buy me shoes”.
