CDM was out to do its 67 minutes of Mandela Day at Moletji. We partnered with the Department of Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Coghsta, Polokwane Municipality, Limpopo Provincial Government and SAMSUNG Mobile SA as we commemorate Mandela Day with other stakeholders in Moletjie Thusong Service Centre in Limpopo, under the theme: “Take Action against Poverty and Gender-Based Violence, inspire change and make everyday a Mandela Day” and also participated in the giving of an RDP house to a family at Ramoshwana village and also painting.

The MEC for Coghsta Makoma Makhurupetje, Executive Mayor of CDM, Cllr John Mpe, Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality Cllr Thembi Nkadimeng, Limpopo’s 1st lady Margaret Mathabatha and other councillors handed over a four-room house to a family of 10 at Ga-Ramoshwane in Polokwane Municipality today.

Standing in front of the house is the beneficiary who is the head of the family, 32 years Happy Malinga. Malinga and her 3 siblings were orphaned when their parents died in 2013. They are living on government grant for their disabled cousin and a child grant for the grandchildren. The last born in the family of 4 is Minenhle Malinga who is doing grade 12 at Zidikeng High School at Tembisa.

The family is currently staying in an old 2 room house which was donated to them by a local resident.
