Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC)Β continue to do oversight work on projects implemeted by the municipality. On 07 April 2021, the committee led by Chairperson Cllr Paulina Makgato visited theΒ Water Services InfrastructureΒ Grant (WSIG) project at Mafefe areaΒ Maredi WSIG Project. The project is benefiting the community in Maredi Village underΒ Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality.
The project scope of work included equipping and energizing 1 borehole, construction of 3 Phase powerline and UPVC pipeline, installation of new 6 x 10 000 liters polyethylene elevated storage and cleaning of existing concrete reservoir.
βWe are satisfied with the work done on this project. We have sufficient water in the area and the project went very well. It was easy to engage both the project manager and contractor when we needed clarityβ, said Cllr Sabulone Mphofela, Ward Councilor and EXCO member responsible for Infrastructure in Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality.
