Interested persons are invited in terms of section 35(1) of SPLUMA to nominate persons representing the following disciplines Capricorn District Municipality hereby invites nominations for persons to be appointed as members of the Capricorn District Municipal Planning Tribunal and the Capricorn District Municipal Appeals Tribunal in terms of section 35(1) of SPLUMA.
Attributes: Nominees must be persons with leadership qualities and must have knowledge and experience in/ of spatial planning, land use management, land development and law
Field/ Areas of interest: Town Planning, Land Survey, Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, Geotechnical, Legal, Property, etc
Terms of office: The terms of office of the members of the District Municipal Planning Tribunal and Appeal Tribunal will be two (2) years calculated from the date of appointment of such member by the Municipal Council
Nomination Particulars: Each nomination must be in writing and not by pencil or free hand and must contain the following details:
- The full names and address of the nominator, who must be a natural persons and a person may nominate himself or herself or organisation nominate the candidate.
- The name, address and identity numbers of the nominee.
- Motivation by the nominator for the appointment of the nominee to the Capricorn District Municipal Planning Tribunal (not exceeding one page)
- A curriculum vitae of the nominee which must include ; full names, identify number, gender, address, telephone, fax, mobile numbers, email address and at least two names and contact details of references
- Certified copies of qualifications and valid registration certificates indicating registration with the relevant professional body or voluntary association
- Letter of acceptance of the nomination from the nominee (see Schedule 2 of the regulations in terms of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 16 of 2013.)
- A minimum experience of 4 years post registration with professional bodies
Disqualification: Interested persons are encouraged to read section 38 of Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act 16 of 2013), and failure to comply with the section and the above requirements may result in the disqualification of the nomination.
Remunerations: The successful candidate will be remunerated in accordance with Treasury Regulations that regulate the remuneration of commissions and committees of inquiry, and audit committees and will be re-reimbursed for expenses incurred for the attendance of the Municipal Planning Tribunal.
Nominations must be posted to The Municipal Manager, Capricorn District Municipality, P. O. Box 4100, Polokwane, 0700 or hand-delivered to Capricorn District Municipal Offices, 41 Biccard Street, Polokwane on or before the 14 November 2019 at 16h30.
