The Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo attended a closing gala dinner of Inter-Provincial Volleyball tournament that was organized by Volleyball South Africa (VSA) and hosted by Capricorn District.
The Executive Mayor appreciated and thanked all teams that participated in these games. “As Capricorn District Municipality, we take pride in the fact that Volleyball SA chose us to host these games. As the custodian of the municipal and community games, we were quite mindful of the expectations that you all had regarding the hosting of these kind of event, and we committed ourselves in meeting your expectations” she said.
The gala dinner and award ceremony took place last night at Park-Inn Hotel. This tournament of U19 had all provinces represented by teams of girls and boys.
The Executive Mayor was amongst the leadership that assisted in crowning the top 3 in the boys and girls groups of the tournament.

Silver Medal – Gauteng
Bronze Medal – North West
Girls Group
Gold Medal – Mpumalanga
Silver Medal – North West
Bronze Medal – KwaZulu-Natal
Cllr Teffo emphasized that the development of volleyball is one such important cornerstone of the social programmes that we must all pursue to bring about social cohesion and livelihood opportunities to our young people, and especially those that play full time.
