HERITAGE CELEBRATION AT GA-RAMOKGOPA IN MOLEMOLE

“The culture of violence against women and children is not part of our heritage, the culture of drug and substance abuse is also not part of our heritage. It is not what our forefathers and foremothers taught us,” said the Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo.
Cllr. Teffo was speaking during a celebration of Heritage Day held at Botlokwa Ga-Ramokgopa in Molemole Local Municipality on 22 September 2022.
Cllr. Teffo also called on society to take this day to recommit themselves to condemn gender-based violence. “Let us celebrate our African being of humanity, of being peaceful and loving. Let us celebrate the heritage of protecting our own children from harm, Incidents of violence, abuse and femicide are therefore an insult to our African heritage,” continued Cllr. Teffo.
The event was attended by traditional leaders, councilors, cultural groups, and artists such Dr Winnie Mashaba were also there to entertain the masses.
This is an annual event that rotates in all our 28 traditional tribal authorities.
