On 25 July 2025, a new chapter of dignity and service delivery was written in Ratsaka Village, under Molemole Local Municipality. The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, officially handed over the Ratsaka Water Supply Project, a vital step towards restoring the basic human right of access to clean water.
This milestone project brings safe, reliable water closer to the homes of hundreds of families, ending years of struggle and long distances to water sources. In partnership with Molemole Local Municipality and the local traditional leadership of Ratsaka, the project reflects the power of collaboration under the District Development Model.
From restoring dignity through water to inspiring minds through reading, this was more than a handover. It was a promise fulfilled, a community empowered and a future refreshed. The community thanked the municipal leadership for implementing yard connections.
“Constructing this project at Ratsaka, we never experienced any challenges of project delays. Neither have we heard of any community protest halting the project. We would like to thank the traditional leadership and the community at large for their cooperation and collective efforts towards completion of this project on time,” said Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo.
