Capricorn District Municipality team laced up and hit the ground running at the Mzansi Athletics Club Back to School Marathon held at the Polokwane Rugby Fields on 17 January 2026. No school shoes were harmed — just running shoes doing their thing.

The race was graced by MEC for Department of Sport, Arts and Culture Limpopo Jerry Maseko, and brought together both junior and senior runners, all marking the energetic start of the 2026 school year. Books can wait — fitness comes first!

This was all part of the warm-up for the big date on 14 February, when runners will trade chocolates for kilometres at the CDM 4-in-One Marathon, with Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo at the same venue. The CDM 4-IN-ONE Marathon Valentine Edition will run under the theme “Run with Love.”
