On behalf of the Capricorn District Municipality, I take this opportunity to thank all the runners for participating in the 2024 edition of the CDM 4-in-One Marathon.
The massive turnout we saw on Saturday morning warmed our hearts and is testament to your commitment to a healthy lifestyle and embracing the joy of running. Participating in a marathon is more than just covering a distance – it is about discovering the reservoirs of strength in you, overcoming personal barriers, testing your limits, and achieving a milestone you might never have imagined.
As a District that is renowned for investing massively in sport, we also extend our deepest appreciation to the official sponsor, Mercurius Motors Polokwane for being instrumental in making our race a success. We thank you for driving our race with such generosity. We also thank other sponsors such as Vexoscore, Limpopo Gabling Board, Lepelle Northern Water and Park-Inn Hotel. Your belief in our cause and your unwavering support have allowed us to create a platform for runners to shine and thrive. We also thank Polokwane Athletics Club for the legwork in the logistical operations of our race, such as registrations, providing the timing systems and capturing the results.
We also thank the spectators who came to cheer for the runners. While for some runners it was just a memorable day of fun running, for others, it was an opportunity to prepare for ultra marathons. We therefore congratulate the cash prize winners and those who qualified for Comrades and Two Oceans marathons, and we wish them the best of luck.
