Executive Mayor vowed to work for the people of Capricon

 

Executive mayor of Capricorn district municipality, Cllr Gilbert Kganyago vowed to work hard for the people of Capricorn. This was said during his inauguration held on Thursday, 17 July 2014 as the new Executive Mayor of the district municipality.  He also announced Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) as follows: Cllr PG Dandane (Finance), Cllr PR Mashangoane (Planning and Environmental Management Services), Cllr B Kgare (Community Services), Cllr MJ Matsaung (Infrastructure Services), Cllr P Mahlo (Executive Strategic Management Special Focus), Cllr MP Boloka (Sports, Arts and Culture), Cllr E Kgatla (Corporate Services) and Cllr NW Seakamela (Local Economic Development). 
 
“This team will in the next few weeks embark on a process of consultation with various stakeholders to chart a clear approach and way-forward in building better communities. We invite all NGO’s, business, labour movement, traditional leaders and other social partners to identify concrete steps and things that we together need to do to realise high economic growth, reduce poverty and create the much needed jobs in line with the broad vision of the national development plan,” said Kganyago.

 

 He said all should accept full and collective responsibility of making local government the centre of gravity in service delivery.  “I am confident that we will be up to this task and that we will not disappoint the trust placed in us by our people. The time has come for council, the new mayoral committee and each an every employee of CDM to roll up their sleeves and dedicate them to the task at hand efficiently. The people of Capricorn district deserve this from all of us,” Kganyago concluded.
