The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe and Council Speaker Cllr Nakedi Lekganyane led a #GoodGreenDeeds cleaning campaign in Westernburg in response to President Ramaphosa’s call to rid our environment of waste and discourage littering and illegal dumping. The campaign was held on 29 March 2019.
The Good Green Deeds programme was launched by President Cyril Ramaphosa with an objective of mobilising all sectors of South Africa to become more environmentally conscious. The programme seeks to promote behavioural change towards littering, illegal dumping and waste in general. President called on all South Africans to make a difference in their communities by doing clean-up activities.
Speaking at the launch of the Good Green Deeds programme President Ramaphosa urged South Africans to embark on a new era of consciousness. Executive Mayor closed the #GoodGreenDeeds cleaning campaign in Westernburg by addressing residents and workers under community works programme. #LoveYourCountry #DontPolluteIt
