Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe met with business stakeholders to present the District Development Model.Β The interaction session was held onΒ 20 January 2020 at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane.Β District Development Model was launched by the President of South Africa Mr Cyril Ramaphosa in November 2019 at Lephalale in the Waterberg District.
βThe DDM will turn the district into a planning centre and coordinate the implementation of any type of a government project from all spheres. This will enable the district to coordinate and have an influence on where a new school will be built, where a road will be tarred, where a mine or shopping centre will be open or where a new clinic will be built. The Model is therefore anchored on one plan, one budget and one approach!β, said Executive Mayor.
The DDM will be launched in all districts within the country. CDM will officially launch the DDM in February 2020. The DDM is led by Office of the Premier and CoGHSTA. The session was attended by the various business structures, officials and councillors.
