EXECUTIVE MAYOR DELIVERS CDM STATE OF THE DISTRICT ADDRESS (SODA)

The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr Mamedupi Teffo delivered the 2022 State of the District Address (SODA) held on 20 May 2022 at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane. The State of the District Address followed a council meeting that was held to adopt the Final Draft 2022/2023 IDP/Budget tabled at 10h00 in Polokwane Council Chamber.

The ordinary council meeting was held in terms of Chapter 4, Section 19 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) and Section 24 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003) to consider the 2022/2023 IDP/Budget and budget related policies.

The SODA was attended by all councillors, Magoshi, sector departments and parastatals, Non-Governmental Organisations and other stakeholders critical to the good governance of the District. The adoption follows a vigorous Integrated Development Plan (IDP) consultation process that took place in April 2022 with all stakeholder as required by the Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000. The municipality consulted with NGO/CBOs, Youth, Women & Persons with Disabilities, Traditional Leaders, Business and Academic Institutions.

The Executive Mayor thanked all stakeholders for the support they have given the new Council since day one. ‘We hope that our partnership shall continue to soar to greater heights so that we can triumph over poverty,” said Executive Mayor.
