“On behalf of Capricorn District Municipality providing water to our communities, it is our first priority to ensure that there is running water and we are much aware of the matter that the community of ward 18 is now facing of water pipe burst and we promise that our water and maintenance team are working and doing their level best to resolve and fix the asbestos pipe crisis”.
The Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo said this, as she attended a community meeting in ward 18 at Lebowakgomo High School in Lebowakgomo, Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality on 21 August 2024.
Members of the community raised their issues of not having water for several days because of the water pipe burst that have occurred recently in the surrounding areas of Lebowakgomo. “There is no estimate time when water will be fully restored,” alluded the Executive Mayor adding that residents were urged to use water sparingly.
