The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality presented the Draft IDP/Budget 2020/2021 during the radio presentation sessions that were held on 23 and 24 May 2020. The presentations started on Saturday 23 May 2020 at 18h00 on Energy fm. On 24 May 2020, the presentation was broadcasted live through livestreaming on community radio station in the district namely Mohodi, Moletjie, Botlokwa, Zebediela, Lebowakgomo and Turf fm. He later on the same day presented on Capricorn fm at 16h00.
The process of public consultation has changed its format from meeting sessions to the use of radio and other online platforms due to the COVID-19 pandemic regulations, which regulates the movement of people and prohibit all gatherings. The municipality has also put in place alternative methods for the public and stakeholders to forward their written comments and inputs. The municipality issued a notice in terms of Section 25 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) and Section 22 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003) that Capricorn District Municipality has approved the Draft IDP/Budget for 2020/2021 financial year during a virtual/videoconferencing Council meeting held on 22 May 2020 at 10h00 at the Capricorn District Municipality Council Chamber.
The 2020/2021 Draft IDP, Budget and related policies were made available on the municipal website www.cdm.org.za. Inputs and comments should be submitted to the municipality by the 26th May 2020.
