A delegation of eleven members consisting of members of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) and officials from Dr JS Moroka Municipality at Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, visited Capricorn District Municipality on 15 May 2023.The delegation was led by the municipality’s Speaker Cllr. Rosina Nkoane and, MPAC Chairperson Cllr. Welhemina Mashishi. They were part of CDM’s MPAC meeting taking place at CDM Council Chamber.
“We are here to benchmark on the municipality’s good practice following the number of clean audit reports that CDM has received recently. Our focus is more on reports interrogation, compliance, and getting a clean audit,” said Dr JS Moroka Municipality’s Speaker Cllr. Rosina Nkoane.
Cllr. Nkoane said, “We hope to grab as much as we can from this meeting, go back to implement in our municipality and hopefully improve the way we do things”.
According to the Speaker, the municipality has received disclaimers on three consecutive years and they want to see that change.
