A delegation of eleven members consisting of members of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) and officials from Dr JS Moroka Municipality at Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga, visited Capricorn District Municipality on 15 May 2023.The delegation was led by the municipalityβs Speaker Cllr. Rosina Nkoane and, MPAC Chairperson Cllr. Welhemina Mashishi. They were part of CDMβs MPAC meeting taking place at CDM Council Chamber.
βWe are here to benchmark on the municipalityβs good practice following the number of clean audit reports that CDM has received recently. Our focus is more on reports interrogation, compliance, and getting a clean audit,β said Dr JS Moroka Municipalityβs Speaker Cllr. Rosina Nkoane.
Cllr. Nkoane said, βWe hope to grab as much as we can from this meeting, go back to implement in our municipality and hopefully improve the way we do thingsβ.
According to the Speaker, the municipality has received disclaimers on three consecutive years and they want to see that change.
