The countdown has begun for the submission of financial statements and annual performance Reports for the financial year 2023/24 by municipalities in the district namely, Blouberg, Lepelle-Nkumpi, Polokwane, Molemole including Capricorn District Municipality.The countdown encourages all municipalities to submit their annual financial statements and performance reports for audit on or before 31 August 2024 as part of the Roadmap to Clean Audit launched in March last year (2023).
With the second deadline of the Roadmap now looming, all municipalities have so far made progress in addressing the concerns that the Auditor General raised in the 2022/23 audit report and are looking forward to improving the audit outcome for the financial year under review.
This countdown and the consensus to submit financial statements and performance reports concurrently is therefore symbolic of the commitment to the Roadmap to ensure that all municipalities are ready to submit to the AG, financial statements that are complete and credible.
