The community of Devrede came in numbers to get first hand information on the developments around the Devrede Water Supply Project implemented in their area.“I am here today to address the challenges we are encountering with the water project in Devrede. I want to sincerely apologize as the main issue we are facing is the lack of a water source. We are currently in negotiations with local farmers to determine the best location for our water infrastructure,” said Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo.
“We understand the severity of the water crisis in our community, and we are committed to ensuring that our residents have access to a sustainable water supply. Your leaders have engaged with us. We heard the challenges and possible interventions where highlighted,” said Executive Mayor.
Representing the Mayor of Blouberg Local Municipality Cllr Maria Thamaga was Executive Committee Member Cllr Dan Mosena. Mosena thanked the community of Devrede for coming in numbers to voice their concerns direct to the leadership in a respectful manner. The Executive Mayor was accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee, Speaker of Blouberg Local Municipality and the ward councillor. The meeting took place on 18 October 2024.
