On 04 December 2025, the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Development Planning and Environmental Management Services (DPEMS) joined the MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Mme Violet Mathye, for the launch of the 2025 Road Safety Festive Season Campaign and the handover of the departmental fleet.The event took place at Bana ba Thari Special School Hall in Solomondale, Ga-Dikgale, under Polokwane Municipality.
The launch brought together key stakeholders, including transport associations, churches, SAPS, traffic officials, and traditional authorities, all united in promoting safer roads during the festive season. The department also unveiled 85 new law enforcement vehicles for both police and traffic officials.
