CDM hosted yet another Agricultural information sharing session

Capricorn District Municipality hosted yet another Agricultural information sharing session with small farmers at Ga-Tibu in Molemole today.

The aim of the information sharing session is to assist small farmers in the district with information on how they can sustain their farming bussineses and also to introduce them to the market. And also the market gets a platform here to share information with the small farmers on what is expected from their products. Similar sessions were held at Lepelle-Nkumpi municipality in September 2018, at Polokwane municipality in November 2018, Blouberg municipality in March 2019, the last event will be held at Molemole municipality (East) on 16 May 2019.

One of the small farmers who started farming in 2004, Esther Mashalane from Ga-Mokgehle, shared her success story with her other counterparts. Mashalane farms, beetroot, spinach, butternut, tomato and maize. Her market is Goseame, Pick & Pay, and Boxer.

Mashalane said that the only way to successful farming is through hard work, commitment and to be passionate about what you are doing.

Institutions which attended the agricultural information sharing session include Goseame open fresh produce market, Landbank, WD seedlings, Nedbank, LEDA, Standard bank, and SEFA.
