As part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring safety within its communities, Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) hosted another Community Engagement Seminar at Magatle, Zebediela, in Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality on 08 May 2025. The seminar aimed to empower community members by addressing key safety and social issues that affect their daily lives. Representatives from various sector departments and municipal units engaged with attendees to provide insights and practical information on how these issues are being handled.Presentations were delivered by representatives from the following departments:
– Department of Education
– Department of Health
– Department of Community Safety and Transport
– Department of Social Development
– Department of Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism
– Department of Sports, Arts and Culture
– Judiciary
– South African Police Service (SAPS)
– Department of Correctional Services.
In addition, officials from the municipality educated the community on matters related to Fire and Rescue, Disaster Management, Community Policing Forum. And Environmental Health.
This seminar forms part of a series of community engagement initiatives. Similar events will be held at Molemole Municipality (Soekmekaar) on 22 May 2025 and Polokwane Municipality on 29 May 2025 (venue to be confirmed).
